I am left for dead,
In my own mind
All those things unsaid,
Memories of a different time...

I'm holding, and praying,
For something,
To save me!
Dying, not living,
When I forget to breathe, now...!

Grasping at straws,
That always seem to bend the wrong way
Waiting for the dawn,
Wishing it would remain...

I'm tossing, and turning,
And wishing,
There was a way out!
Seething and beating myself,
Senseless...!

Where did I go wrong...?
I got what I what I wanted,
But life said that I,
Didn't quite belong...

There must be another way...!
Somehow I've got to find!(To find! To find!)
A purpose, a resurrection!
And then leave it all,
Leave this all behind!

Smokey remembrances...

The "feel" and "flow" to this have been with me for quite some time, which is not surprising to those who've known me over the last 10 months, and this piece, quite clearly, shows just where I've been that whole time.

Adrift, searching.

Disconnected.

You will note, hopefully, that the "flow" alternates with the verses, the four line verses are generally softer and slower, while the five line verses are harder, edgier, louder, and faster. This was done on purpose, to help convey the feelings I felt, my mind as it swung back and forth, attempting to make sense out of life.
